What you will do

The goal : have a nice walk with a twist. Namely, visiting historically and culturally remarkable places which also happen to have another background story : all of them were the set of a famous movie (sometimes several ones) or movie scene.

On top of that, we've added some (mostly easy) movie-related riddles to solve in order to unlock hidden stops. So let the fun begin : you can act detective now (or any other role, after all) and find your way towards the last stop. Only two intermediate stops are given, as well as the starting point of course.

(Good to know : case is not important when typing the passwords or passphrases, but accents are - see how to type french accents.)

Step by step
  • Our starting stop will be this iconic restaurant which inspired Gusteau's in Pixar's Ratatouille (Brad Bird, 2007), where a little, extremely skilled rat named Remy becomes the unofficial chef. To proceed, you'll need to find the French title (beware : there are accented characters) of a 1990 movie starring Judith Godrèche. The actress was nominated for one César award for her performance in this movie. 1

  • The Pont Neuf and a left turn will bring you to the Louvre and its Pyramid, one of the key locations of The Da Vinci Code (Ron Howard, 2006, based on the book by Dan Brown). The next stop, which is very close, will be unlocked by the name of the main character of a 2002 movie based on an espionnage novel by Robert Ludlum. Tip : this character has amnesia. 3

  • Exit Vivienne passageway through Vivienne street and turn right then left into du 4-Septembre street up to de l'Opéra square. The Garnier opera is largely featured, from the changing rooms to the roof, in french box office success La Grande Vadrouille (Gérard Oury, 1966), with Louis de Funès. Now there's one last stop to unlock : just find the name of an american actress who spend holidays in Rome, study cooking in Paris, and sell flowers in London. 8
