The place

Paris is said to have around 100 solar quadrants. The one of the Saint-Jacques street in the Vth district is the work of Salvador Dali. It was made in 1966 as a woman's head whose upper part is in the shape of a scallop (a "coquille Saint-Jacques" in French... Typical Dali, isn't it ?).

The street's name (as well as the eponymous tower in the 4th district, near Châtelet), comes from the Compostela Pilgrimage, being one the streets that one can take at the beginning of the journey.
