The Art Nouveau Lutetia Hotel, located not far from the Bon Marché department store, was build in 1910, and has a rich history. After World War I, many artists such as Picasso, Matisse, André Gide, James Joyce, Samuel Beckett or Saint-Exupéry took residence in the hotel. Charles de Gaulle spend his honeymoon here.
During World War II, the hotel became the headquarters of German counter-espionage, but When Paris was liberated, it was used as a repatriation center for returnees from the concentration camps.
Today, the luxury hotel has a "David Lynch Signature Suite" and other similar artist-designed suites, as well as two restaurants.
