Located not far away from Roland Garros tennis stadium, near the Bois de Boulogne, the Gardens Of the Greenhouses Of Auteuil was created between 1895 and 1898. Entrance is free.
It's a botanical garden, housing collections of rare plants (most notably orchids) and remarkable trees. Its 1900 greenhouses are arranged around a large French garden. The biggest one is nearly 100-meter long, and manages to house a palmarium (hot and dry climate), a tropical garden (hot and wet climate) and an orangery (less hot climat), all in the same greenhouse.
Plans for the extension of Roland Garros may result in shortening the Gardens, but the 1900 greenhouses would remain untouched.
Every summer is organized here a classical music festival.
- Opening hours - Everyday, 10am-5pm (winter) or 6pm (summer)
